Fern watches elep-fern Horton...

Dr. Seuss "Horton Hears a Who"

"A person is a person, no matter how small."

Will you believe that the world you live in is.... a speck?

Are'nt we all specks in this world?

Depending on your perceptions, the movie may not be for all, as some may not appreciate the humour, or in fact, some bits are quite philosophical...though I like it..=D Love the animation, splash of colors and eccentric elephant Horton who seeks to protect what he he truly believes in...

Somtimes I wished I have taken a philosophy module or somthing....some things cannot really be self taught...it needs guidance, be it through brainstorming process or interpretations...I think it gives a deeper insight into life as a whole....but well, that is no excuse for not picking up any info now...I can at least read a little on it...

I remember reading this phrase somewhere....

"If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"

In the movie, the kangeroo says," You have to hear it, see it, feel it, then it exists."

Really?

What if it is there for you to hear, to see, to feel but you missed it?

Or you are not there to hear to see to feel?

Does it mean that it does not exist?

The extra tiny bit of effort that seems insignificant may be THAT last bit of effort needed to pull through a situation.....

How much effort are we willing to put into a seemingly hopeless situation before we wave the white flag and surrender?

When all around you are jeering at you, opposing you, can you still stand firmly on your feet, in your own beliefs?

Then again, your beliefs may be wrong......

Or are they?
Who says?

At some point in time in our lives, we will doubt ourselves, question ourselves, but sometimes, we just know that it is something we HAVE to do....we WANT to do....

I remember these few quotes I like...from William Blake...

A fool sees not the same tree that a wise man sees.

A truth that's told with bad intent beats all the lies you can invent.

As a man is, so he sees. As the eye is formed, such are its powers.

What is now proved was once only imagined.

You never know what is enough unless you know what is more than enough.

And my favourite....

To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.

If you cannot / do not / failed to perceive it exists, then for all intent and purposes, it does not exist.
